Philippians
Well, I started a new project this year (inspired by my good friend Leah). I'm participating in a large-scale effort with other believers to be more purposeful in memorizing scripture. A pastor in Florida has encouraged others to join with him in memorizing the book of Philippians by Easter, April 24th. Since Philippians is one of my very favorite epistles, I was really excited when I read about the project on Leah's blog. Week 3 began Saturday, with verses 12-18 of chapter one being the focus this week. I've been surprised and pleased at how well it's going. It's definitely not easy, and it's a discipline that I've largely neglected in the last several years, for just that reason. God admonishes us to hide His word in our hearts, though, and I felt really convicted about my disobedience in that area.

So excited that we are doing this together! I have found 'new things' in Scripture through this memorization process, and I look forward to learning more. Right now, I am praying that "what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel" (1.12). Love you, my friend.
