Turtle Report

American Box Turtle Report
by Kaity Pittard

American box turtles can eat almost anything. Turtles can be herbivores, carnivores or omnivores. American box turtles are omnivores. American box turtles get their name from when they are afraid. They get in their shell and their shape is like a box. (Kaity has inserted an illustration here.)American box turtles can swim. They are amphibians.

Daddy found a turtle at work and bought it home; we let it swim in the sink! When it was swimming, bubbles came from his nose! We named him Martin, because where Daddy works is Martin Marietta. It's a rock quarry.

Turtles need to have space to move. We put him in a box. I got some rocks and half a brick and put them in the box. I think American box turtles are neat! The end.
